SC Farm Report on Wednesday

   Cattle at SC auctions on Tuesday:  Compared to last week, feeder 
steers and feeder bulls were unevenly steady to 2.00 higher.  Feeder 
heifers were unevenly steady to 3.00 lower.  Feeder Steers: Medium and 
Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 137.00-150.00, 500-600 lbs 130.00-141.00.  Feeder 
Bulls: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 131.00-151.00; 500-600 lbs 
130.00-133.00.  Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 120.00-
130.00; 500-600 lbs 118.00-130.00. Slaughter cows were 7.00 to 10.00 
lower.  Slaughter cows: Breakers 75-80% lean 48.00-54.00; Boners 80-85% 
lean 50.00-63.00; Lean 85-90% lean 50.00-56.00; Lean Low Dressing 35.00-
49.00.  Slaughter bulls were 2.00 lower based on limited comparable 
sales. Slaughter bulls: Average Dressing 1490-1895 lbs 80.00-98.00; High 
Dressing none reported; Low Dressing 1045-1905 lbs 61.00-83.00.
   Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 1-2 1205-1210 lbs Young to Middle Age 
Cows with calves over 300 lbs 1200.00-1325.00 per pair. Medium and Large 
1000-1215 lbs Middle Age Cows with calves under 300 lbs 800.00-975.00 per 
pair.  Medium and Large 2 895 lbs Aged cow with calf under 300 lbs 620.00 
per pair.  Small 1-2 755-885 lbs Young Age to Aged Cows with calves under 
300 lbs 875.00 per pair. Small 1-2 775-870 Middle Age Cows with calves 
under 300 lbs 675.00-750.00 per pair.  Small 3 880 lbs Middle Age Cow 
with calf under 300 lbs 475.00 per pair.
   Hogs on Tuesday:  Plant delivered weighted average Carcass Base Price. 
National Direct Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs had no 
comparison at 50.68. Sows live price 300-450 lbs 17.51; 450-500 lbs 
23.15; 500-550 lbs 26.53.
   SC Grain on Wednesday:  Corn was 1 cent lower; elevator bids 3.93-
4.38, processor bids 4.18-4.38. Soybeans were 5 cents lower; elevator 
bids 9.54-10.04, processor bid 10.39, and export N/A. Wheat bids 
were mostly 9 cents lower; elevator bids 5.09-5.29.  
   Cotton on Wednesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.29 
lower at 62.25.
